ATHENS, Greece — July 03, 2026 — Penteli Children’s General Hospital has embarked upon a transformative era following the successful delivery of an extensive
modernization and renovation program. This pivotal initiative was realized through the exclusive funding and execution of the Kaizen Foundation, the international charitable arm established by Kaizen Gaming.
The conclusion of this redevelopment was marked by a formal ceremony, returning these upgraded facilities to the National Health System (ESY). In the presence of the Prime Minister of Greece, the Minister of Health, and distinguished representatives from regional and state authorities, the event celebrated a cornerstone €4.5 million donation dedicated to the advancement of pediatric healthcare services.
A Comprehensive Investment with Tangible Social Impact
Tailored to meet the sophisticated demands of specialized pediatric medicine, the Foundation’s investment was orchestrated in close partnership with hospital leadership
and national health authorities. The project focused on enhancing critical clinical, surgical, and logistical operations to ensure sustainable improvements in patient care.
Key components of the initiative included the complete modernization of four surgical suites, the integration of state-of-the-art medical technology, and the overhaul of
sterilization units, creating a clinical environment optimized for modern surgery. Simultaneously, the first-floor Orthopedic and ENT clinics, the Surgical Clinic, laboratories, and outpatient departments were fully refurbished. This contribution also provided advanced patient care equipment, such as specialized pediatric bedding and secure medication logistics systems, to elevate the overall hospital experience for young patients and their families.
To bolster the institution’s logistical capacity, significant resources were directed toward supportive infrastructure, including upgraded fire safety systems and revitalized common areas. Structural enhancements were also made to ensure full accessibility for people with disabilities (PwD). Furthermore, the Kaizen Foundation financed the complete landscaping of the exterior grounds, introducing designated parking and a contemporary children’s playground.
Strengthening Public Healthcare Through Collaboration
The project’s completion underscores the vital role of institutional synergy and public-private partnerships in generating enduring societal value. The handover was attended by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, alongside Minister of Health Adonis Georgiadis and Deputy Minister Marios Themistocleous, who joined hospital administrators and medical staff to mark this achievement.
Leadership Statements
Panos Konstantopoulos, President of the Kaizen Foundation, shared during the ceremony:
